About Us
SPI is a policy think-tank aims at excellence, high standard quality to empower and equip systems in Ghana and other countries in Africa to align businesses within the environmental ecosystems to sustainability principles. SPI aims at “making the environment more efficient and less wasteful”.
SPI intends to create a niche in Ghana’s policy environment by putting out sustainability objective, research and advocacy, independent analysis and critique on issues, using tried and tested sustainability techniques that apply across different disciplines.
SPI’s primary objective is to support government and private sector businesses mainly with energy econometric ideas, through research and advocacy and proposing policy alternatives for sustainability issues across disciplines.
SPI is an enterprise incorporated in Ghana as ‘Sustainability Planners International’, a company limited by guarantee under The Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179) with an operational base in Kasoa, Ghana.
Our Mission
To achieve a healthier lifestyle for every woman, man, child through application of sustainability principles by making SPI the bang-tail in Ghana and Africa for sustainability advocacy, research, training, coaching, implementation and evaluation of high quality environmental programmes through policy engagement.
We deliver on this mission by engaging in five key activities:
Collaboration
Providing opportunities for sustainability professionals to share ideas and resources, through local to national level institutions in both private and public sectors.
Partnership Building
As highlighted by the United Nations (Goal #17), building partnerships to achieve goals is critical to successfully driving sustainability. Joining with identifiable strategic partners to work towards achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a priority.
Advocacy
Promoting sound advocacy activities on sustainability issues.
Research
Engaging in fact finding investigations on issues specific to match practice.
Capacity Building
Providing facilitator-led and on-demand short courses, along with timely webinars, support the sustainability practitioners and business owners.
Through the five activities above, SPI facilitates dialogue among business organizations and communities to continuously clarify and update issues bothering on Sustainability. Thus, defining the standard of excellence to properly educate the capable workforce that plays a critical role in driving true sustainability across board.
